Xueqing Yin

Born in Nanchang, China, Xueqing Yin is a multimedia artist functioning as photographer and filmmaker who currently lives in New York City. She received a BFA degree in Film and TV Production from Shanghai Normal University in 2017 and an MFA degree in Photography, Video and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts in 2019. Yin received scholarship from University of Cumbria in Film Production in 2016. She has been the chief writer in photography for Art Media Lab since 2018.
Yin's practice is focused on still and moving images, supplemented by painting and writing. Negative Daydream is her ongoing 35mm street photography series since 2017, where she made lyrical photographs to write poetry with her camera. The "negative" becomes the material that holds the dream of ambiguous memories, which took place at multiple countries  including China, Iceland, USA and Italy. Negative Daydream was featured by Vogue Italia Official Website; The Immigrant Artist Biennial (TIAB); BLINK Art Magazine and other media outlets. Selected exhibitions of Negative Daydream included "Art and Revelry" at Saint Remy, France, Oct 2019; "Light" Exhibition at SVA Chelsea Gallery, NYC, July 2019; "Antithesis" SoMad Studio, NYC, June 2019; SVA MFA Photo Video Spring Salon, NYC, Oct 2018.
